OK Go!!!

(From back left to front right) Damian Kulash (lead vocals/guitar), Tim Nordwind (bass/vocals), Dan Konopka (drums), and Andy Ross (guitar/vocals) equals OK Go! My favorite band yea! Today they will be announcing the winner of the dance contest on youtube as a video, heres the link. The former member of OK Go was Andy Duncan who was replaced by Andy Ross. OK Go's style of music is alternative rock, but mostly power pop. They have been nominated for a Grammy (Feb. 11th on CBS at 8:00), which they are surely to win, with their HIGA (Here it goes again) video on the treadmills. Although HIGA may be their most mesmerizing dance video, their other one, A Million Ways, is also extremely fascinating. They also have four rock videos out. Do What You Want, Invincible, Get Over It, and Don't Ask Me. They also released a tour video of You're So Damn Hot, but my personal favorite is the Ping-Pong Instructional Video. OK Go is probably the band I know most about so you will be hearing a lot about.

What English band released their debut album last Feb. and is now #17 on Rolling Stone's top 50 album's of 2006?

Under the Influence of Giants

(From top left to bottom right) Jamin Wilcox (drummer/keyboards), David Amezcua (bass), Drew Stewart (guitars), and Aaron Bruno (vocals/lyrics). UTIOG are also from LA like RKK, but have very little else in common. They do more of an alternative dance type of music than anything, but occasionally they'll play alternative rock or indie pop. Usually they're compared to the Scissor Sisters, but its hard to compare them to about anything. They only have one album released with a major label, altogether they have two, their major label is The Island Def Jam Music Group. The band says who influenced them on their myspace. I'm sorry but if I put them all down no one would read this for anything. They have one music video and I'm petty sure thats all there will be for this album, but I don't know.

Who was the band that got most of their publicity from their dance videos?
hint: treadmills

Rock Kills Kid

Shawn Dailey (bass), Sean Stopnik (guitar), Jeff Tucker (guitar and vocals), Reed Calhoun (keyboards/vocals), and Mike Balboa (drums) are the five members in RKK (Rock Kills Kid). Most people compare their music with artists such as U2, Franz Ferdinand, and The Killers. I wouldn't compare them to U2 or Franz Ferdinand as much as I would to The Killers though; to me they also sound a little like Keane's new album. They have one single out, Paralyzed, which was from their only album titled Are You Nervous?. The band uses two recording companys Fearless Records and Reprise Records. This small band from LA, California has come a long way with only one album out. If you are interested in RKK and would like to know more, you can e-mail me or you could search for yourself. Here are some links to help you with you search.

What band had a hit single off their debut album before it was ever released?
hint: the hit was Mama's Room.
